On 20 August, in the city of Katowice, a commemorative plague in memory of Henryk Sławik – the Righteous Among the Nations – was hung on the wall of a tenement house located at the intersection of Św. Jana and Rynek Streets. It is the same tenement house where Sławik lived during the interwar years.

Within the framework of the ceremony there also took place a motor rally following the path of Sławik and his collaborator, Józef Antal. The motorcyclists have set out from the Market Square in Katowice and within the next five days they are going to visit the places related to the heroes, situated both in Poland and Hungary. The rally will end in Mauthausen Concentration Camp, where Sławik was executed.
