PHOTO ALBUM OF POLISH RESCUERS

In October of 2007, November of 2008 and August of 2009 over 200 hundred Polish rescuers received the highest national honors from the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczyński. Three photo albums, published by the Museum of the History of Polish Jews and the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, present the stories of these people and describe the ceremonies in their honor. We welcome your help in creating this website. It is to be a place where we recount stories of aid given to Jews during the Nazi occupation of Poland. This site is dedicated above all to those who have been awarded the honorable title of Righteous Among the Nations. But we would also like it to be a means of gathering other stories of the intertwined wartime fates of Poles and Jews, not just those directly related to persons awarded the Righteous Medal.
