Testimony of Marek Golecki

Marek Golecki was born in 1956 in Parczew.
According to Marek Golecki's account, Ludwik Golecki, his father, escaped from a transport to Katyń thanks to his acquaintance, a railwayman. After his return to Parczew, he had a shop and cooperated with and helped Jews in the area. Having received a warning from Jews employed in the town hall, Ludwik escaped to Warsaw to avoid arrest.
Ludwik Golecki helped Mrs. and Mr. Mandelkern and six other Jews. He provided them with food, found jobs for several of them, organized documents. After the war, Ludwik kept in touch with the Mandelkern couple. In 1986,
Through the efforts of one of the rescued women (Żyto), Mr. Golecki was awarded the medal “The Righteous Among the Nations.”
