In spring 1943, after their escape from the ghetto in Włodzimierz Wołyński, doctor Michał Bloch, his wife and their two teenage children, knocked at the door of Zofia Dziadek, a nurse from his hospital, who lived nearby. After a discussion with her husband, Zofia accepted the Jewish family under her roof and hid them in the cellar until the Soviet army arrived. After World War II the doctor opened an office in Łódź, but in 1948 he and his family emigrated to Australia. For some time he corresponded with Zofia, but in 1966 the contact was broken.
