During the Nazi occupation Anna Borkowska served as Mother Superior of a convent of Dominican Sisters in Kolonia Wileńska, 15 kilometres from Wilno. With other sisters, she sheltered 15 members of a Jewish youth movement, including Abe Kowner, Aria Wilner, Chajka Grosman, Edek Boraks, Chum Godot, and Izrael Nagel.
