Story of Rescue

September 2010, Wirtualny Sztetl

Stanisława and Jan Dentkiewicz spent the Nazi occupation in Warsaw. First, they lived at 4 Mostowa Street, and then at 13/15 Mariensztat Street. They helped people of Jewish origin. They hid Adolf Werksztel and his parents, Dawid and Rozalia, who had left a ghetto thanks to the Dentkiewicz. In September 1941, they also hid Adolf’s sister, Rosalia, who later obtained a fake documents and moved out after five months. For some time, they also sheltered Dora Tchórz, Stefania Srebrna and others.
