One day the owner of a shop with fabric, Sara Glass came together with her 8-year-old daughter Marysia, they knocked on the window at night and said: “Will you shelter Marysia?”. And of course mom and Basia said they would. Sandomierz is a very small town. And my aunt, who lived in Sandomierz and was a teacher, used to buy in that shop. So at first Sara went to my aunt. But everyone knew my aunt, she had a little house and so on, so she said: “No, maybe it would be better at Baśka’s place”, and she gave her the address. That’s how she came at night, invoked my aunt, so she wasn’t completely unknown after all.
