During the Nazi occupation, Helena and Antoni Bieliński lived in Księżopole, a village near Sokolów Podlaski. In September 1942, five Jews turned up at their house, asking for a place to sleep. They came another day with the same request. Finally, the Bielińskis sheltered them on their farm. In November 1942, six another people joined them: Rubin, Rachmiel and Szmul Bird, Cesia Rubinfeld, and Andzia and Romek Nahari. In 1942, Antoni Bieliński was arrested and spent a couple of months in the work camp in Treblinka. In March 1943, the farm was searched by Gestapo looking for Jews. In consequence, Antoni Bieliński spent 4 weeks in prison in Sokołów Podlaski.
